1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using the AgeWell Mental Health website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Mental Health Services Agreement

2.1 Nature of Services

AgeWell Mental Health provides virtual mental health counseling services delivered by licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs). Our services are intended to support your mental health and well-being but are not a substitute for emergency medical care or crisis intervention.

2.2 Limitations of Services

  • Our services are not appropriate for individuals in acute psychiatric crisis, experiencing suicidal ideation, or requiring hospitalization
  • We do not provide emergency services. If you are in crisis, please call 911 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988
  • Our services are not a substitute for medication management or psychiatric care
  • We do not provide services to individuals under the age of 18

2.3 Client Responsibilities

As a client, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during intake and therapy sessions
  • Communicate openly and honestly with your therapist
  • Respect the therapist's professional judgment and recommendations
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding your therapist's personal information
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

2.4 Therapist Qualifications

All therapists providing services through AgeWell Mental Health are licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs) with specialized training in geriatric mental health. We verify all credentials and maintain professional liability insurance.

2.5 Confidentiality and Privacy

Your mental health information is protected under HIPAA and state mental health privacy laws. We maintain strict confidentiality except in the following circumstances:

  • When required by law or court order
  • When there is an imminent risk of harm to yourself or others
  • When child abuse or elder abuse is suspected
  • When required to prevent a crime

3. Fees and Payment

3.1 Cost of Services

AgeWell Mental Health provides mental health counseling services at no cost to clients. This is made possible through grants, donations, and partnerships with community organizations.

3.2 No Refunds

Since services are provided at no cost, no refunds are applicable.

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling

4.1 Appointment Cancellation

Clients may cancel appointments up to 24 hours in advance without penalty. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may result in forfeiture of the appointment slot.

4.2 Rescheduling

Appointments may be rescheduled through our booking system or by contacting us directly.

5. Technology and Virtual Sessions

5.1 Technical Requirements

Clients are responsible for maintaining a reliable internet connection and appropriate technology to participate in video sessions. We recommend:

  • High-speed internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps)
  • Computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and microphone
  • Private, quiet location for sessions
  • Updated web browser

5.2 Recording and Consent

Video sessions may not be recorded without explicit written consent from both the client and therapist. Unauthorized recording is prohibited.

6. Prohibited Conduct

Users of AgeWell Mental Health services agree not to:

  • Engage in any form of harassment, abuse, or threatening behavior toward staff or other users
  • Attempt to access unauthorized areas of our website or systems
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or any code of a destructive nature
  • Engage in any illegal activity or violate any applicable laws
  • Disrupt or interfere with the normal operation of our services

7. Assumption of Risk

By using AgeWell Mental Health services, you acknowledge that mental health treatment involves inherent risks and uncertainties, outcomes cannot be guaranteed, and you assume all risks associated with the use of our services.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AgeWell Mental Health shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our website or services.
